One Florida studio that recorded most of American death metal's first wave.
The scene
Between 1989 and 1993 the first wave worked on small budgets in local studios, and in Florida that meant Morrisound and the Scott Burns production sound. Death, Morbid Angel, Obituary and Deicide were all within driving distance of each other. When the genre turned technical and sterile in the mid-1990s the sound was abandoned; after 2008 it came back, deliberately, as a revival.
